Eorbis B2G Teams with San Antonio in Procurement Pilot

SAN ANTONIO-Orbis Onl-ine Inc. has completed a pilot program with the city, facilitating three on-line, reverse auctions using the company’s eOrbisB2G application. The pilot program makes San Antonio the first governmental agency to use the eOrbisB2G program for procurement purposes. The first run has saved the city $21,000. The city had posted three requests for quotes on the eOrbisB2G website, prompting responses from suppliers across the country. San Antonio city officials say they will continue to evaluate the use of online auctions to identify the products and services with the greatest savings potential utilizing this technology.
