"The retailers are very excited," Scott R. Schroeder, corporate marketing director for the Ohio-based development company, tells GlobeSt.com. "This center is a real nice fit for everybody. The stores that are open are doing very well." Among the stores that have opened are a 140,209-sf Target, a 29,985-sf Bed, Bath and Beyond and a 23,706-sf OfficeMax. A 115,240-sf Home Depot and a 19,235-sf PetsMart will open shortly.

The shopping center is one part of a redevelopment plan for the former brownfields site on which it is located. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer on a 23.5-acre public park and recreation area directly across the road from the center.

DDR owns and manages 210 shopping centers across the country. In Massachusetts, the company owns a 795,000-sf shopping center in Framingham, which it acquired in 1995.
