MVP is consolidating offices in Chicago to trim costs, but it will continue to sell sporting goods, apparel and outdoor gear from its website. There are 20 employees in the MVP.com Austin office and 39 employees at its Boulder location.

The Austin office had opened in 1995 as International Golf Outlet Inc., or igogolf.com. It had been founded by UT grad and golfer David Schofman. In 1998, SportsLine, the online sports operation of CBS, had purchased igogolf.com. Earlier this year, MVP.com had acquired CBS SportsLine earlier this year for $220 million. MVO.com is chaired by John Elway and counts among its advisory board members Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky.
