Commercial Construction Permits Down in 2000

OVERLAND PARK, KS - For the first 11 months of the year, there's been a big drop in this large suburb. The biggest drop is in the remodel/miscellaneous category.

OVERLAND PARK, KS – The total number of commercial construction permits issued in Overland Park, KS, has dropped significantly this year compared to last. Through the end of November, 551 commercial construction permits were issued in this Johnson County suburb, compared to 893 permits issued last year. The biggest drop was in the commercial remodel and miscellaneous category, where numbers fell from 796 last year to 444 through the first 11 months this year. New commercial permits were up, with 94 permits issued thus far this year, compared to 91 last year. Thirteen permits have been issued for new hospitals, schools and churches, with six permits issued last year.
