The report recommends transportation-centered improvements such as the building of a sidewalk system, bike lanes and intersection redevelopment on Peachtree Road. The report also suggests the development of a greenway system along unused rail lines, the conversion of a two-acre tract owned by MARTA to a green space and the redevelopment of some MARTA parking lots for compatible transit use.

The Chamblee study now goes to the Atlanta Regional Commission for approval. The commission backed the study as part of its federally-funded Livable Center Initiative program.
