The office at Third Avenue and I Street will provide one-stop shopping for people needing to do everything from pay property taxes to pick up a marriage certificate. Currently, South County residents have to drive to the county administration building at 1600 Pacific Hwy. near Downtown San Diego.
El Cajon-based CDM Construction will start work the day after Christmas on the $2.1-million, 20,000-sf project, which is scheduled for completion by mid-June. The two-story building will be adjacent to the county courthouse.
The building will include a 1,000-sf community room and marriage chapel.
