Dutchess County Economic Development Corp. Receives International Honor

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY-The Dutchess County Economic Development Corp. has won third place in the Regional Economic Incentive Program category of Business Facilities Magazine's International 2000 Economic Development Achievement Awards Program.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY-Business Facilities Magazine reports that it has selected Dutchess County Economic Development Corp. for its third place (bronze) award. The award is in the Regional Economic Development Incentive category of its International 2000 Economic Development Achievement Awards Program.

The award recognized the county’s “innovative and effective use of incentives in the economic development of Dutchess County,” DCEDC officials said. In particular, the magazine focused on the county’s use of the Poughkeepsie/Dutchess Economic Development Zone, now named the Empire Zone, which offers tax credits and incentives to businesses of all sizes.
