The Indianapolis, IN-based company was cited for breaking ground on 1.6 million sf of office and distribution product with an estimated value of $200 million during 2000.

The company's portfolio of office/industrial properties in Orlando/Tampa, owned, managed or under development, totals 3.2 million sf. Tampa is 80 miles west of Downtown Orlando. Duke-Weeks entered the Florida market in 1996.

The firm's trophy project in Tampa is the $113 million, three-building, 450,000-sf office park being developed at Highland Oaks that will generate 2,140 new jobs in Hillsborough County at salaries 150% above the state's average wage. Duke-Weeks is also developing two other office buildings and three industrial facilities in metro Tampa.

In Orlando, the firm has developed 609,691 sf of office and industrial valued at $54 million. Among the projects are Two Northpoint Center, a 108,499-sf class A office building; Lee Vista II, an 86,592-sf warehouse/distribution facility; Celebration Office Center One, an 80,000-sf class A office building; 220 Celebration Place, a 200,000-sf class A office structure; and Parksouth II, a 134,600-sf distribution facility.

Duke-Weeks is the largest mixed office/industrial real estate company in the country with a total market capitalization of $6.5 billion. The 1,500-employee company owns office, industrial and retail properties and 4,000 acres of undeveloped land in 16 major cities, focusing on the Midwest and Sunbelt regions.
