Home Depot and Target May Come to Town

BRENTWOOD, CA-Although nothing has been signed yet, Brentwood City Council members speculate that a home improvement store and popular retailer are likely to set up shop on a 70-acre parcel on the corner of Lone Tree Way and Heidorn Ranch Road.

BRENTWOOD, CA-Although a deal has not been inked yet, Brentwood city officials are hoping that a Home Depot and Target will locate a store on a 70-acre property slated for development at the corner of Lone Tree Way and Heidorn Ranch Road. While no one has submitted applications to the city to develop the property, city chief planner Mike Leana says he is confident they will likely submit proposals in the near future. Both stores could open as early as spring 2002, says Leana.

At its meeting last week, the City Council gave the go-ahead to contract with EIP Associates to prepare an environmental impact report on the project, which would amount to more than 405,000-sf. “They’re planning a 405,000-sf shopping center. Home Depot and Target are prospective tenants, but nothing has been signed,” according to a spokesperson with Gallagher and Miersch, Inc. – a real estate brokerage firm that would work with developer Eli Reinhard and Arcadia Development Company.
