BMC operations in Europe and Asia Pacific have been expanding rapidly, and the Amsterdam center will be the central point of coordination for all BMC Software international affairs, according to Darroll Buytenhuys, senior vice president of field operations. He will run the new facility and oversee BMC's organizations in Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

"The new headquarters will greatly assist in ensuring that this sense of confidence is aggressively projected into the marketplace," Buytenhuys says. The same team of trainers, formerly assigned to a center in Nice, France, will staff the Amsterdam facility. The program is being updated as a result of feedback from prior participants.

The Amsterdam center's four classrooms can accommodate up to 100 people. There is an auditorium for large-scale lectures and presentations plus a restaurant. It will have some 40 permanent employees, including BMC's international management teams for marketing, human resources, finance and operations.

In Houston, Max Watson, BMC's CEO, says the operation "is a credit to BMC Worldwide and especially to our international operations." The facility will feature a Service Assurance Center so partners and customers can see all of the products and solutions in a hands-on environment. Amsterdam has been chosen because of its reputation as a high-tech international hub. The headquarters and training center have been built at Amsterdam's Starparc Business Centre" at Schiphol-Rijk, a 10-minute drive from Schiphol International Airport.
