Oakland County Buys Former Clinton Valley Center Property

PONTIAC, MI-The city had a chance to buy the grounds of former mental

PONTIAC, MI-Oakland County has officially acquired 88 acres of vacant land on the former Clinton Valley Center property in Pontiac. On Wednesday, the state of Michigan formally presented the county with the deed to the property, located south of the Oakland County campus off of Telegraph Road, north of Elizabeth Lake Road. The property was purchased for approximately $880,000.

“One of my first meetings in January 1993 shortly after I took office as county executive was with Governor Engler to discuss the purchase of the CVC property,” says Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. “This final chapter in a long and arduous process culminates eight years of tough negotiations with the state of Michigan but secures our future growth needs for the next 30 years.”
