Clarion Partners Acquires 685 Third Ave.

NEW YORK CITY-Winstar Communications, a wireless systems and services firm, is headquartered at the property and is its principal tenant. A Clarion subsidiary will lease and manage the building.

NEW YORK CITY-The 630,000-sf office building at 685 Third Ave. has been acquired from Blackacre Capital by Clarion Partners, a subsidiary of the ING Group of The Netherlands. Winstar Communications, a wireless systems and services firm, maintains its headquarters at the building and is its principal tenant. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We are delighted to own this fully renovated building, with its location near Grand Central Terminal,” says Jeffrey A. Barclay, managing director and head of acquisitions for Clarion. He also notes that the firm plans to continue acquiring properties in the New York City market.
