The donation is earmarked for the establishment of a Center for Real Estate Finance. Students at UT's McCombs School of Business will be trained in fiscal analysis, project evaluation and debt and equity securitization. The goal is to set up a comprehensive curriculum in finance, real estate, law and community planning.

In line with the new center, UT has formed an academic conference partnership with real estate centers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California at Berkeley. The conference will focus on research issues, the first of which will be held in June in Vail, CO.
