The review board's approval included a number of conditions such as adding lighting along the 10-foot pathway for security purposes, a complete landscaping plan must be submitted to the DRB for review and approval to show where replacement trees will be planted for the six trees that will need to be removed for the expansion.
Despite the approval there was some concern expressed by board members that the expansion would eliminate the seating area to the side of the deli and create a 10-foot, alley-type passageway between the two businesses. David Schnayer, a representative for shopping center owner Center Trust, explained that there are plans to reconfigure the sidewalk in front of the deli to accommodate another eating area.
