San Francisco-based Campsix has secured $20 million in funding to date. According to a spokeswoman for Campsix, the building, which is leased by MG West, was merely retained for future opportunities. E-Colony could not be reached for comment.
In an unpredictable economy where incubators are only as successful as the companies they help to go public, it comes as no surprise to insiders that Campsix and E-Colony are facing some challenging market conditions. But landlords are not worried. Net companies vacating the buildings are being replaced by tech giants such as Sun Microsystems and Microsoft Corp., both of which have recently leased space in the city.
