Regional Mall Attracts 40-acre Mixed-Use Project

PHOENIX-Attracted by a regional mall under construction, a local developer has purchased a 40-acre parcel nearby and plans a mixed-use project that includes office and retail space.

PHOENIX-A new regional mall is attracting ancillary development in Chandler.

Gardner Real Estate Co. recently purchased a 40-acre site, at Frye Road and Ellis Street in Chandler adjacent to the Chandler Fashion Center, for $4 million.

Gardner plans a mixed-use project on the site. Half of 40 acres is zoned for a 290-unit apartment complex with office suites. The second phase of the project, which is on the other half of the parcel, will have retail shops, restaurants and office space. The second phase will be developed as demand dictates, says Thomas Gardner, who heads of the venture.
