RNL Design Unveiling Workplace of the Future

DENVER-The future is now, says RNL Design as it preps to unveil a "Star Wars" workplace in 6,700 sf on the 15th floor of Legacy Tower. The project has been three years in the making.

DENVER-Early this month, RNL Design, the largest architectural firm in the Rocky Mountain region, will unveil the office of the future. The prototype, Workplace 2010, will be set up in 6,700 sf on the 15th floor of the Legacy Tower at 700 17th St. in the heart of Denver’s financial district. “Our project partners committed more than $2 million in supplies, design, research and hours into creating Workplace 2010,” RNL spokeswoman Lida Citroen told GlobeSt.com. “That’s a little misleading, because obviously it wouldn’t cost $2 million to recreate an office with these kinds of features. A lot of the money was spent on research and planning.”

More than 40 RNL Design clients participated in the project, including Compaq Computer, Legacy Partners, Steelcase Inc., JBL, Denver’s commercial real estate firm Frederick Ross Co., Nortel Networks, Haselden Construction and I-Media World.

The project’s goal is to educate, create new dialogue and generate research about the way people work. The project integrates design, ergonomics, organizational behavior, technology, business planning and productivity. The project has been three years in the making.
