If built, the 209,560-sf SuperCenter would easily be the largest retail store in Clark County. The letter requesting the pre-application meeting also suggests the expanded store might be open 24 hours a day. The existing store is open 16 hours a day, and sits across I-205 from a Fred Meyer store that sells groceries. The expanded Wal-Mart would be 25% larger than Fred Meyer.

Meanwhile, over by the other major north-south thoroughfare, Interstate 5, Wal-Mart is busy constructing a 141,000-sf store that should open early this year. Located along Highway 99, it, too, has the approvals to eventually expand into a SuperCenter.
