Kelly, president and CEO of Houston's Austin Industrial Inc., term has started this week. He says his top priority is to make ABC the foremost leader nationwide in honoring construction workers. He also says it's imperative to lobby federal, state and local governments to advance the merit shop philosophy.
Henry Kelly is one of the nation's most successful construction companies, according to the ABC. Kirk Pickerel, ABC executive vice president, says Kelly's extensive experience "coupled with his passionate advocacy" makes him the ideal president.
Kelly has been president and CEO of Austin Industrial since 1988, and he has been president of the Houston ABC Chapter, a member of the ABC board and vice president of ABC's executive committee prior to his election. ABC has 22,000 member firms in 80 chapters across the country.
