Ruda comes to GlobeSt.com with 25 years of newspaper experience, as both a reporter and editor, including 11 years covering major-league baseball in Chicago. While working as a sportswriter for a suburban Chicago daily, he became an Illinois real estate broker and later, a licensed appraiser.
Not only has he listed and sold apartment buildings and residential property since 1987, but prior to joining GlobeSt.com, Ruda was also a real estate specialist for a non-profit fair-housing organization. In that capacity, he performed building-owner outreach services throughout the six-county area. Ruda was instrumental in assisting Chicago Housing Authority residents move into the private rental market through HUD's Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program.
