Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights Opens After Short Delay

SPOKANE, WA-Tribal officials have high expectations for the casino, located about 10 miles west of this inland city, the second largest in the state and a focal point for some 400,000 people.

SPOKANE, WA-The opening of the Kalispel Tribe’s glitzy new casino was delayed for two days until all the regulatory demands could be met, but open it did last Thursday. The 53,000 sf gaming hall was the product of four years of efforts, plus a helping hand here and there along the way.

Tribal officials have high expectations for the casino, located about 10 miles west of this inland city, the second largest in the state and focal point of a population of 400,000. It was built at a cost of $29-million. The proceeds will fuel the 300-member tribe’s social service and education programs, according to casino executive Marianne Guenther.
