Coolidge will retain the space and plans to lease it to industrial tenants, according to Miller officials. The plant, closed for the last six years because of slumping sales in the Northeast, had operated for 20 years. Coolidge is now looking to work with the Volney, Fulton and Oswego County government officials and business leaders, and has already contacted Operation Oswego County Inc.
Coolidge will also be occupying space at the industrial park, moving its development/management operations here, so while Miller may have lost its need for the plant its new owner plans to get its money worth. Miller is refocusing itself on its Milwaukee Technical Center, where it is showcasing this state-of-the-art brewery with special brews such as Edel-Helles, created for the grand opening of the facility. The Miller Valley Brewery within the Center cost the company $4 million to create.
