Stockert, who left Duke-Weeks Realty this past October, had been executive vice president of acquisitions and dispositions with the company. As senior vice president and CFO of Atlanta-based Weeks Corp., the 38-year-old Stockert was a key player in the July 1999 merger of Duke Realty and Weeks, which created Duke-Weeks Realty Corp., headquartered in Indianapolis, IN.
At Weeks, Stockert was involved in the REIT's growth from $300 million in total capitalization to $1.7 billion, and worked with capital markets, arranging more than $1 billion in financing. Additionally, on the transaction side, he was involved in more than $1 billion worth of dispositions and joint ventures and nearly $500 million in acquisitions.
Prior to joining Weeks, Stockert was vice president, investment banking with what is now Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and was an accountant with Ernst & Young.
