Wyndham, headquartered in Dallas, not only will buy products, but will sponsor a $75,000 internship program for On-Target, also based in Dallas. Its customer list includes Alcatel, Ericsson, Texas Instruments and TXU.

Wyndham president and CEO Ted Teng says the deal hopefully will act as a model for minority purchasing and development pacts in other major cities. On-Target employs 107 people, primarily inner-city residents. Wyndham is the first hotel client in On-Target's growing customer roster.

Royce West II has been selected as the 2001 intern. He will focus on development of procurement opportunities and sharing practices of the two operations. He will be overseen by On-Target's Stephanie Grimes and Jay Litt, Wyndham senior vice president of procurement.
