Flying M Ranch Resort for Sale By Owners

YAMHILL, OR-The popular Flying M Ranch is for sale. Owners Bryce and Barbara Mitchell, are asking $4.6 million for the lodge, airstrip, motel and some of the campground. Initially, the couple had listed the property with a realtor, but now will negotiate the sale privately, according to a ranch spokesperson.

The Mitchells plan to sell the lodge, airstrip, motel and a portion of the campground. The couple plans to retain its homes and stables and continue to offer horseback rides, but may consider the sale of another 200 to 300 acres around the resort.

The Mitchell family has owned the land since 1922. The resort was founded in 1970 to give people an authentic Western experience. The original lodge, completed in 1971, wasdestroyed by fire in 1983. The new lodge was completed and opened on January 19, 1985. It has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, and has been the site of numerous movies and commercials.
