Intercontinental Cos. Renovating Building Near North Station

BOSTON-Hoping that this area becomes an address for office space, Intercontinental Cos. is renovating the former Stop & Shop bakery here in the North Station area. The $90-million project involves adding an additional six floors to the building.

BOSTON-Intercontinental Cos. has begun a multimillion dollar renovation of the former Stop & Shop bakery here in the North Station area. The building has been vacant since the mid-1980s.

Intercontinental’s $90 million project involves renovating the building’s six floors as office space and adding another six floors of apartments above. The plan is to have 180,000 sf of office space and 108 apartments, with at least 20 being designated as affordable.
