Located at the southernmost area of Antioch, approximately one-third of the property is in Antioch's Future Urban Area No. 1 Plan. The rest of the area lies beyond city limits and beyond the county urban limit line. Bob Nunn of Brentwood and his family are proposing the development.
Nunn, whose family is responsible for the popular Summerset adult community in Brentwood, says the proposed project wouldn't worsen traffic or add to school crowding. In seeking approval of this project, the Nunn family has solicited testimonials from Brentwood school officials who praised the Summerset development project for generating local school taxes without putting a strain on schools.
Officials in Antioch, which has experienced an explosion in housing development in recent years and an influx of residents who must drive over Highway 4 in hellish commutes, are trying to lure more jobs to the city by landing office park developments.
