Starbucks' regional office at 1165 N. Clark St., more than a mile north of the Loop, was home base for 50 marketing, operations, real estate and business alliances employees of the Seattle-based company, says marketing specialist Lisa Acevedo.
The workers are happy about the move Downtown, Acevedo added, in large part because 550 N. Washington Blvd. The building is less than a block from Metra's Richard Ogilvie commuter rail terminal, and about two blocks north of Union Station. The two depots handle the majority of commuter rail traffic into the city. In addition, the CTA's Green Line stops one block north of 550 W. Washington Blvd.
"We're closer to more public transportation, and it'll be new, nice space," Acevedo said.
