The tribe is still battling the county over a permit the Rincon needs to install a left-turn lane on Valley Center Road at the casino entrance. Tribal officials are predicting traffic problems when the 62,000-sf casino facility opens.
Plans include a 22,000-sf building with 759 slots. But the tribe plans to add a 27,000-sf tented area and four temporary buildings totaling 13,000 sf. Rincon officials expect to make the additions before May 15, the state's deadline for tribes to have their slot machines operational.
