State Gives Macon $1 Mil to Help Buy Former Rail Station Building

MACON, GA- Georgia Power Co. owns the four-story, 63,000-sf structure and has set an asking price of $2 million to $2.5 million. The city must match the federally-funded DOT's funds with a minimum of $200,000. Macon is 85 miles southeast of Downtown Atlanta.

MACON, GA-The city of Macon, 85 miles southeast of Downtown Atlanta, is getting $1 million in a federally-funded grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation to help buy the former rail station building and use it again as a passenger terminal. The classically-designed, historic 1916 Downtown structure is currently being used for office space.

Georgia Power Co. owns the four-story, 63,000-sf asset and has set an asking price of $2 million to $2.5 million. The city must match the DOT’s funds with a minimum of $200,000. Macon is 85 miles southeast of Downtown Atlanta.
