William Marino, formerly vice president of transactions for the real estate company who specialized in property acquisitions in Southern California, was promoted to senior vice president, development. Marino joined the company in 1994.

John Rossi – who joined the company in 1992 – was advanced to senior vice president, operations. Until his promotion this month, Rossi was responsible for operations of AMB's large industrial property portfolio in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The company - which owns and manages development project totaling more than 87 million sf and 946 buildings in 25 markets - also promoted Neal Hesler and Douglas McGregor to vice president, portfolio programs and vice president, operations, respectively.

Hamid Moghadam, chairman and CEO says the company was proud to recognize five key members of the management team. He credited Higgins, Marino, Rossi, Hesler and McGregor for the company's success.

AMB also announced that it had hired Nancy Hemmenway to the senior management team as senior vice president, human resources. She will focus on employee and organizational development at AMB.

Prior to AMB, Hemmenway, who joined the company last month, was executive vice president of human resources with Northpoint Communications. Says AMB president Blake Baird, "(Hemmenway) has a mandate to deploy our human capital in ways that make AMB a good citizen in the 25 communities where we own real estate, and a great place to work."
