The steering committee is considering putting the light rail system on the ballot this year. Final recommendations are expected Feb. 13.
Mayor Kay Barnes has said that she will soon be holding public meetings to discuss the light rail proposition. Another route to be considered for the light rail has been proposed to run along Troost Avenue, another north/south corridor about a mile to the east.
