As the new VP of development, Robert Bunyan will be responsible for leasing office space, business land sales, build-to-suit negotiations and marketing and public relations for the company's new Vantis project in Aliso Viejo. Bunyan joined the firm in January 2000 as development manager after serving as VP of land sales for its sister company Shea Homes.

Lisa Whitney is now VP of property management, where she will oversee the management and leasing of more than two million sf of retail, office and industrial real estate. Prior to joining the firm, Whitney was VP/Portfolio Manager for Trammell Crow Co. where she oversaw the activities of eight property managers who were responsible for 11 million sf of commercial property.

Eugene Spindler has been promoted to VP for the Southern California Commercial Division, where he will manage all aspects of the development of Baker Ranch, a 370-acre master-planned business community in Lake Forest. Spindler joined the company in 1999 as a development manager. Previously, he was deputy director for the Real Estate Services Division of the California Department of General Services and VP of Johnson Wax Development Corp.

Like Spindler, James Yoder also has been promoted to VP for the Southern California Commercial Division. In his new position, Yoder will act as development manager of Shea Properties' retail, office and commercial projects. Yoder has been with Shea since September 1991, serving in a number of executive positions. Previously he was a retail specialist for Grubb & Ellis Co.

Shea Properties owns and operates 3.2 million sf of commercial real estate and 5,500 apartment units in California and Colorado. The company currently has 10 million sf of commercial real estate and 7,000 apartment units in the development pipeline in those states.
