Specialty Medical Park Off to Fast Start

JOHNSON CITY, TN-Med Tech Properties Inc. has fully-leased and sold out the 6.7-acre, first-phase development of its 130-acre, $20 million Med Tech Regional Business Park, about 150 miles north of Downtown Charlotte. A total 83.5 acres are being sold at $80,000 per acre ($1.84 per sf) to $250,000 per acre ($5.74 per sf).

Dallas-based Alliance Data Systems has leased 4.7 acres. Mountain Empire Surgery Center has purchased two acres. Mountain Empire Surgery Center is a new venture of Orthopaedic Associates of Johnson City and Watauga Orthopaedics in parnership with Nashville-based OrthoLink and Mountain States Health Alliance. The surgery center claims to be the only free-standing, specialty orthopedics center in the Tri-Cities region.

Med Tech Regional Business Park is a partnership between the city of Johnson City and Mountain States Health Alliance. Owner Med Tech Properties Inc. is a for-profit subsidiary of Mountain States Health Alliance. Developer Turley, Martin and Tucker is also marketing the park.
