Wyndham Chelsea Hotel Opens, Part of Urban Renewal District

CHELSEA, MA-Wyndham International Inc. opened the Wyndham Chelsea here. The 180-room hotel is the eighth property in the state for the Texas-based company and will be part of the city’s Urban Renewal District through a franchise agreement with Wedge Hotels Corporation.

Wyndham International did not return calls by presstime but Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer of the company said in a released statement, “The Boston area is an important target market for our company and through this franchise agreement we were able to partner with a reputable company who has a strong presence in the New England area.” Located two miles from Logan International Airport and three miles from Downtown Boston, the hotel will target business travelers with Internet access in the guestrooms and in meeting rooms, cordless telephones, an executive boardroom and 1,500 sf of meeting space.
