College Gets $809,000 Gift to Finish $6 Mil Nurse-Training Center

LEESBURG, FL-Lake-Sumter Community College is rushing to complete the 31,500-sf facility by year end after receiving a donation from the Central Florida Health Care Foundation. Leesburg is 45 miles northwest of Downtown Orlando.

LEESBURGH, FL-Lake-Sumter Community College couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the new year on its $6 million, 31,500-sf health science center that will train and graduate nurses and other health care professionals. The Central Florida Health Care Foundation took $809,000 from its $70 million kitty and gave it to the college to help finish construction by year end.

The foundation was created after Orlando Regional Healthcare System acquired Leesburg Regional Medical Center three years ago. Leesburg is 45 miles northwest of Downtown Orlando.
