Crescent Real Estate Funding I LP will find out, renaming UPR Plaza to Carter Burgess Plaza. From 1982 until 1998, the 40-story office tower had been known as Continental Plaza.
The newest name change results from a 13-year, 363,250-sf sublease, recently inked by the Ft. Worth-based architectural/engineering consulting firm. Carter Burgess Inc. will occupy 15 floors of the high-rise office tower situated in the CBD and has options for three more floors that are currently occupied. In all, Carter Burgess intends to take up 442,947 sf in the 40-story, class-A property.
Carter Burgess had started negotiating for the 15 floors after Anadarko Petroleum Co. bought Union Pacific Resources Group in July and started relocating the Ft. Worth employees to its Houston headquarters. The relocation won't wrap up until the middle of 2002.
When all is said and done, Carter Burgess will consolidate its five metroplex offices plus have room left over to expand. The property is within walking distance of Ft. Worth's leading attractions and boasts three parking garages, a sky bridge and on-site retail.
