The Mission Bay site was supposed to help marchFIRST consolidate several of its offices around San Francisco. Currently, the company's 750 employees occupy 750,000 sf in five different buildings in the city on Spear and Pacific avenues and California, Brennan and Townsend streets.

"It was a mutual agreement to terminate the lease," says a source with Catellus who declined to say what lease rate the company was signed on to pay. "marchFIRST is having some obvious problems and I think it was in both our best interest to do this. By terminating the lease, this gives us the chance to continue marketing the property and they can re-organize their company."

The source says Catellus has received interest from several potential in-fill tenants, but declined to name names. It is unknown what the next move will be for marchFIRST or what they have planned -- if anything -- for the five locations they currently occupy.
