The 73,289-sf old National Linen Service manufacturing building, built in 1954, is undergoing an $11 million conversion to loft condominiums. The project comprises 28 two-bedroom homes and 32 one-bedroom homes. The lofts are 650 sf to 1,739 sf and will cost from about $155,000 and up.

The units will be ready for occupancy by fall. Freedom Lofts, developed by locally based Realty Development Corp. and Realty Construction Corp., is part of the Village at Freedom Parkway, which also contains the 185-unit Freedom Apartments. The loft building was purchased by Realty Development from Empire Holdings of Atlanta. It originally housed the linen manufacturing and warehouse operations for National Linen Service based in Atlanta.
