Thomas Falus Named Head of C&W's Strategic Ventures Group

NEW YORK CITY-Thomas P. Falus has been named president of Cushman & Wakefield’s Strategic Ventures Group, which will develop e-commerce and traditional venture opportunities for the real estate services firm. For the past year he had been shepherding this effort that, Falus says, is designed “to enhance and, where appropriate, transform C&W’s traditional business practices through the creation of an ever more efficient and technology-based, client-focused platform.” The group will act as the firm’s research and development/merger and acquisition division, according to C&W.

Falus, who had been president of Cushman & Wakefield of New York Inc., is a member of C&W board of directors and its global management committee. Prior to joining the firm in 1997, he was executive vice president of development and leasing for Olympia & York USA. <p.Other SVP executives include John Sedlock, C&W's former CFO, who will assess the value a product or partner would add to the company's current businesses and Beth Brownstein, who will maintain and expand existing relationships with C&W's new partners: Business Integration Group, a Web-based property management/administration company, Zeborg Facilities, a services procurement organization and Zethus, an on-line lease transactions exchange. Rebecca Tomasini will also be part of the team. A former Goldman Sachs securities analyst, she will explore opportunities in the areas of construction, procurement and project management.
