CitiSide on the Plaza will include 600 single-family houses, condominium units and townhomes ranging from $78,000 to $135,000, plus 75,000 sf of retail. The privately financed $17 million apartment project is expected to be finished in early 2002 with the first units becoming available by the fall of this year, according to a published report.

The units will consist of 96 one-bedroom units, 144 two-bedroom units and 35 three-bedroom units with an average rent of $725 a month. The average rent for apartments built in Charlotte since 1994 is $850 a month, according to a published report. Units built last year average $900 a month. The first homes are expected to be ready for occupancy by summer.

The Links will also have a 2,800-sf Bank of America Make a Difference Center, an after-school children's facility that will occupy a separate building at the entrance to the community.
