Integrated Homes will develop a low-voltage fiber-optic wiring system that will provide customized home electronics services to an estimated 2,432 homes in the Bonita Springs community. As part of the planned services, Integrated expects to offer residents in the community DVD-quality cable television services, ultra high-speed Internet access and a community intranet.

Besides the residential community, Miromar also has plans to build hotel, retail and office facilities on the 700-acre tract along the Gulf Coast, 14 miles north of Naples. The company already has completed an outlet shopping mall and a community sports arena.

"We have set ourselves apart from (other resort-style communities) through our attention to detail, our commitment to provide first-class amenities and our focus on technology," Tim Byal, Miromar Lakes vice president of operations, says in a prepared statement. "The design of our community network will enable us to enhance our amenity package in the community via our community intranet and extranet by delivering multiple e-commerce opportunities to our residents."
