The city of Phoenix owns the antique castle, a four-story stone sculpture tiered like a wedding cake, and the 19 acres surrounding it. The home was one of the first large estate built in the Valley. Preservation groups have trying to raise enough funds to purchase the castle and the surrounding land. Two other parcels are currently up for sale.

The Phoenix office of Colton Commercial, headed by broker Dan Colton, negotiated the transaction.
