RentPort CEO John Heller said of the deal that, "The products we create by joining forces will offer an extremely fast, convenient and cost-efficient way for apartment owners to get highly predictive recommendations on prospective renters and also report residents who pay, as well as those who don't."

CreditRetriever enables subscribers to access national credit bureaus to obtain an applicant's credit report, as well as search the criminal records databases of the 50 states. RentPort's flagship software product is RentBridge, which allows owners to collect and send rental payment information to national credit bureaus. This application, which integrates with property management systems such as Yardi, GEAC and AMSI, is designed to encourage tenants to pay their rent on time rather than being marked as a poor credit risk. Another program, RentRewards, offers tenants the opportunity to receive discounts from local and national merchants, to receive monthly rewards and to improve or establish a credit history if they pay their rent on time.

Mike Britti, CreditRetriever's CEO, becomes chief marketing officer for RentPort, based here, Tim Yeager will join the firm as product manager and Richard Schreiber will serve as COO.
