$140 Mil Turner Tower Still On Go Despite Layoffs of 400 at CNN

ATLANTA-The planned 700,000-sf Downtown office high-rise still doesn't have a ground-breaking date but Turner Broadcasting says construction plans are unchanged even as 400 employees or 9% of the current work force are dismissed.

ATLANTA-By the end of this week, about 400 employers or 9% of CNN’s work force will be without jobs but the planned $140 million, 700,000-sf Downtown Turner Tower is still on track for an undetermined ground-breaking this year, according to a published report.

The report cited Turner president Alec Fraser’s remarks last week to the Georgia State University Real Estate Alumni Group. Fraser told the organization construction plans for the tower remain unchanged. CNN is a subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting System, which is a division of the newly-formed AOL Time Warner.
