In Endogen's case, Perbio acquired it a little over a year ago. The Sweden-based company restructured the company and laid off a number of employees which led to this space availability here, about six miles north of Waltham.
Proteome Systems is a protein and gene researcher headquartered in Australia. This is the company's first foray into the US market. "They always had a desire to get into the US," Linda Mitchell, Proteome's office manager here. "They chose Boston because it is a biotech hub." Mitchell adds that the company is looking to expand the company here.
