Harrisburg Getting 400-Home Venture and $300 Mil Mixed-Use Project

HARRISBURG, NC-The suburb, five miles northeast of Downtown Charlotte, is attracting Atlanta developer Ed Goodwin, who plans a 200-acre residential community and J& B Development and Management Inc., which has 300,000 sf of office, 450,000 sf of retail and 400 shelter units on the drawing board.

HARRISBURG, NC- This Charlotte suburb suddenly is becoming the darling of developers. An estimated $900 million worth of mixed-use projects over the next 18 months are planned for this area, five miles northeast of Downtown Charlotte.

Atlanta developer Ed Goodwin is planning Abbington, a 200-acre, 400-unit residential project being developed for property owner Avanti Investment Advisors Inc. of Orlando. J&B Development and Management Inc. has 300,000 sf of office, 450,000 sf of retail and 400 shelter units on the drawing board for a $300 million undertaking.
