The $30-million Veterans Home of California consists of six buildings and can accommodate up to 400 veterans, according to Turner Construction Co. of San Diego, the general contractor. The state Department of Veterans Affairs will operate the facility.

S/W Design Group designed the facility, which includes living quarters, administrative offices, clinics, as well as a wellness center, therapy room, pharmacy, library and chapel.
