DANVILLE, CA-City officials here are setting the stage for affordable housing in this infamously costly Silicon Valley town. Danville’s Town Council gave the green light to a joint effort between the town’s community development agency and Bridge Housing – a nonprofit branch of San Francisco-based Bridge Property Management.

The partners want to build the 75-unit Danville Senior Apartments to provide affordable housing at or below market rates for residents aged 62 and older. The development is in the early planning stages, with occupancy projected for 2002, according to Bridge. It is slated for a 2.7-acre property in Danville’s redevelopment area. That parcel is already zoned for multi-family use.
