FiberNet and Cogent Enter Into $5-Mil Building Access Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC-New York-based FiberNet Telecom Group Inc. and locally-based Cogent Communications Inc. are entering into a $5-million agreement that will give Cogent access to FiberNet's nationwide commercial properties portfolio.

WASHINGTON, DC-Two high-tech services are joining forces to provide state-of-the-art access to commercial buildings. FiberNet Telecom Group Inc., a New York-based provider of metropolitan optical connectivity, and Cogent Communications Inc., a locally-based next-generation Internet Service Provider, have signed a multi-year agreement valued at more than $5 million. Under the terms of the deal, Cogent will have access to FiberNet’s nationwide portfolio of commercial office properties.

FiberNet designs, builds and operates FiberNet In-building Networks that give carriers the ability to deliver high-bandwidth services to tenants. It serves as a carrier’s carrier that designs, builds and operates 100% fiber-optic transmission networks in major cities. FiberNet enters into license agreements with nationwide property owners to design, build, and operate the networks within class A commercial properties.
